Happy Mangrove Day, Bronto Buddies! 🌿
Today we’re taking our time machine to the edge of a swampy, tropical coastline where the air is thick, the roots twist like jungle guitar strings, and the beat of life hums through the mud. Guess what? Mangroves are ancient survivors, having existed when dinosaurs were the dominant species on Earth.
While you won’t find The Bronto Brothers in fossil records (we’re a little too groovy for that), it’s not hard to imagine Raptor Rex howling the blues while Axe Raptor shreds guitar riffs under the shade of a prehistoric mangrove tree. These coastal forests have been thriving for over 65 million years, providing shelter for creatures both big and small, and maybe even some dino-sized mosquitoes (ouch!).
Did Dinosaurs Hang Out in Mangroves?
Science tells us that mangrove-like plants existed during the Late Cretaceous period, when T. rex was roaming the Earth. The warm climate and high sea levels made mangrove habitats the perfect chill-out spot for dinos wandering near the shore. We like to imagine a Bronto Bros beach concert, complete with mangrove roots as our natural stage.
Why Mangroves Still Rock Today
Fast forward to the present, and mangroves are still nature’s ultimate defenders. They protect coastlines, shelter marine life, and maintain healthy ecosystems. Kind of like how The Bronto Brothers keep the groove alive in every town we visit. ha-ha.
Bronto Challenge
This Mangrove Day, take a cue from these ancient trees. Plant something, help your local environment, or just find a shady spot under a tree and listen to your favorite Bronto Bros tune. (We recommend “Jurassic Jive” for maximum swampy vibes.)
Or, relax by coloring this page of a mango grove!
