Why We Believe in STEM *and* STEAM

If you’ve been following the Bronto Brothers and their musical adventures, you know it’s not just about dinosaurs rocking out. Sure, there are catchy tunes, wild stage antics, and plenty of prehistoric fun, but there’s something deeper under the surface.

Power of the arts.

STEM—Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math—has long been the gold standard in education. And rightly so! These disciplines build our bridges, launch our rockets, and fuel the tools we use today. My father and I ran successful chemical engineering companies for nearly twenty years. But I believe when you add the “A” for Arts, you unlock something even greater:

STEAM: Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math.

Why does it matter? Because the arts spark imagination. They build empathy. They help young minds make connections across subjects and express what’s in their hearts. In the Bronto Brothers books, music becomes the glue that holds a team together—and the key that unlocks adventure after adventure.

When a young reader sees a T-Rex learning rhythm, or a pterodactyl playing a piano, they’re doing more than enjoying a story. They’re seeing creativity and collaboration in action. That’s STEAM at its best.

So yes, I proudly stand in the STEAM camp. Because the future doesn’t just need smart thinkers—it needs dreamers, too.

Stay curious, stay creative.
