CALM Week: Episode 5 - Reflection

What the Brontos Learned Together

The last day of CALM Week was all about reflection, which meant The Brontos had to sit together and talk about what they learned. This sounded simple, but the band had never been great at quiet conversations. They were better at roaring, shredding music, and arguing over snack choices.

Still, they gathered in a circle, each one holding a small reflection card from the school counselor. Rex looked at his card like it might bite him. Groovy tapped hers against her knee. Thumper dropped his twice before Tim gently slid it back into his hands. Axe, surprisingly, already had his folded neatly.

The counselor asked them to think about the whole week and share something that felt different.

Rex went first because he always jumps in. He said he didn’t expect to like the quiet, but the silence made space in his head that had never been there before. Groovy said balance was still tricky, but she liked knowing she could find it for a moment. Tim said contentment felt peaceful like soaring above the clouds. Thumper said breathing on purpose helped him feel less jumpy, and he planned to practice before big shows. He also said he would try not to drop as many drumsticks.

Axe listened to everyone and nodded slowly. He said CALM Week reminded him that even busy dinosaurs have room to grow, and he liked seeing his friends discover small wins that made their days better. The whole band agreed that the week felt strange at first, but they ended up enjoying it in ways none of them expected.

The counselor thanked them for trying so hard, and the Brontos thanked the school for teaching them something they did not know they needed.

And so the Bronto Brothers learned that slowing down does not make life less exciting. It simply gives you more room to enjoy the moments that matter.
