Welcome back to another spotlight in our “Meet the Brontos” series. Today, we shine the stage lights on Axe Raptor, the cool red-scaled musician who knows how to turn any afternoon into a concert.
His guitar solos are legendary around town, and his energy always gets a smile, even from people who say they do not dance anymore.
Who Is Axe Raptor?
Axe is the Brontos lead guitarist. He loves fast riffs, loud strings, and showing off just a little. He is confident without being annoying, which is a rare gift. His bright smile and laid-back posture make him the member that fans often say feels the most like a big brother. Axe is the raptor who shows up early, tunes his guitar twice, and still says “let’s try that again” even when it sounded perfect the first time.
He wears his red rubber wristband everywhere he goes. It is his trademark. Some kids have wondered if it gives him guitar powers. Axe will not say yes or no. He likes the mystery.
Axe’s Community Superpower
While some band members help at food banks or libraries, Axe takes his talent to places that need music the most.
He plays at the assisted living home.
Every week, he brings his guitar to the recreation room where the old folks gather. But Axe never comes alone. He brings his tiny buddy Tommy Bluetail, a hippy little conga-playing dinosaur who loves mushrooms, sunshine, and making people laugh. Tommy is a free spirit. He is also a great percussionist, which is important because Axe sometimes gets carried away and plays so fast it feels like a locomotive passing through.
The seniors in the home love them both. Some tap toes. Some sway in chairs. Some even get up and dance!
Axe also likes to clown around. He is featured in the comic strip Washington Style. 😂
