🐊 Discover Cobbles the Crocodile: Cretaceous Cousin of Dinosaurs

AI generated crocodile

It was a sunny morning in the jungle when Thumper heard a splash!
“Someone’s swimming in our lagoon!” he shouted.

The Brontos peeked through the ferns and spotted a long, scaly creature floating with just its eyes and nose above the water.

“A Dino?!” whispered Axe Raptor.
“It’s not a log with teeth,” chuckled Groovy.
“I think… It’s a crocodile!” shouted Raptor Rex, just as the creature leapt onto the shore and grinned.

“My name’s Cobbles,” he said with a toothy smile. “I heard your music vibrating through the water from downstream. Can I play along?”

The band stared wide-eyed. Was Cobbles a dinosaur cousin?

Pterodactyl Tim swooped in, flapping his wings excitedly. “Cobbles isn’t a dinosaur,” he explained, “but he is family! Just like me!

Just like you?” Questioned Groovy. “Crocodiles don’t fly!”

“No, but we’re both like cousins to dinosaurs. We all come from ancient archosaurs. But only land-walking reptiles with upright legs are true dinos.”

Cobbles grinned. “So, I’m like an honorary Bronto?”

“You bet!” Rex laughed. “Cousins or not, you’ve got rhythm.”

And just like that, the Bronto Brothers had a new friend to jam with.

🎶 The beat and groove were snappy, and so was Cobbles’ grin.

🧠 Dino Fun Fact: What’s an Archosaur?

An archosaur (say: AR-ko-sore) is a very old group of reptiles that lived long before the dinosaurs we know today.

They’re like the great-great-great-great-great-grandparents of dinosaurs, crocodiles, and flying reptiles like pterosaurs!

If you imagine a big family tree of ancient reptiles, archosaurs are at the root, and dinosaurs, crocs, and pterosaurs are all branches. So even if Cobbles the crocodile and Tim the pterosaur aren’t dinosaurs, they’re still part of the same prehistoric family!

An **archosaur** (say: *AR-ko-sore*) is a super-old group of reptiles that lived *way* before the dinosaurs we know today.
