🎃 Monsters, Music, and Mischief: The Brontos’ Spooky Jam

Fog oozed across the rehearsal room floor like a slow-moving ghost.
A plastic skeleton sat in the front row as if waiting for a private concert.
And in the middle of it all stood the Brontos, tuning, thumping, and laughing their way through a spooky practice session.

Axe Raptor tested a haunted-house guitar tone that screeched like a ghoul stuck in a tree.
Thumper replaced one of his floor toms with a hollow pumpkin and smacked it with cautious excitement.
Groovy swore she saw it grin back.

Pterodactyl Tim adjusted the fog machine.
It responded by belching out a full white cloud at once, swallowing half the band in seconds!

“Perfect,” Rex said through the haze.
“It looks like we summoned something.”

They launched into their spooky set, a twisted, minor-key version of their Jungle Jam sound.
The pumpkin drum boomed, the guitar howled, and somewhere in the back of the room, a rubber bat fell from a rafter and landed on Tim’s keyboard.
The chord it hit by accident was so creepy that everyone froze.

No one admitted they jumped.
Everyone did.

The rehearsal ended only when the pumpkin drum finally gave up and caved in with a wet, crunchy slurp.
Thumper stared at the mess, then shrugged.

“At least it sounded good before it died.”

The band laughed, wiping slop from their faces and picking seeds off the floor.
Next stop: the Halloween performance.
With or without surviving vegetables.
